Alberta Issues 302 Canada Immigration Invitations In First Draw Since Expression of Interest Launch

Alberta has conducted its first draw since launching an Expression of Interest system through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.

The October 15 draw saw 302 invitations issued and a minimum score of 70 points. It included a number of different parameters, from different Alberta immigration categories, language ability, job offer. And work permit status.

For 2024, Alberta has a nomination allocation of 9,750, matching the 2023 allocation.

To date, 8,734 nominations have been issued. Last year, Alberta issued 10,029 nominations, utilizing a “federally authorized administration buffer” to go over its allocation.

Alberta Express Entry Draws

Date Parameters Minimum score Invitations issued
15-Oct-24 Tourism and Hospitality Stream, with the following parameters:

  • Pathway of interest: Tourism and Hospitality Stream, Alberta Opportunity Stream, Rural Renewal Stream, Express Entry Stream – Family Connection, or Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors
  • Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 4 or higher
  • Valid work permit based on a Labour Market Impact Assessment
  • Work permit expiry date of November 15, 2024 or later
  • Job offer for full-time employment in Alberta
  • Job offer with an Alberta employer that is a member of an eligible Tourism and Hospitality Stream sector association
  • Job offer for an eligible Tourism and Hospitality Stream occupation
  • Work experience of six months or more in Alberta
