Alberta Targets Healthcare Skilled Workers With 41 Canada Immigration Invitations


Alberta targeted healthcare professionals with 41 invitations in a recent draw through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program‘s Express Entry-linked stream.

The Auguet 13 specifically focused on candidates with job offers through the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 301 points.

For 2024, Alberta has a nomination allocation of 9,750, matching the 2023 allocation.

To date, 6,977 nominations have been issued. Last year, Alberta issued 10,029 nominations, utilizing a “federally authorized administration buffer” to go over its allocation.

Alberta Express Entry Requirements

To qualify for a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Alberta, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain an active Express Entry profile in the federal Express Entry pool.
  • Express a desire to permanently immigrate to Alberta.
  • Engage in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification.
  • Achieve a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300 points.

Factors enhancing a candidate’s likelihood of receiving a NOI include:

  • Obtaining a job offer from an employer in Alberta and/or possessing work experience in the province.
  • Graduating from a Canadian post-secondary institution.
  • Having a relative residing in Alberta, such as a parent, child, and/or sibling.
