Canada Express Entry: On March 12, 2024, in the Latest Express Entry draw, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 2,850 ITAs. To be eligible, candidates must have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 525.

This draw marks the lowest CRS score requirement in 2024 for the General category. In 2023, the lowest score was 481. Invitations may be issued to candidates from various programs, including the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Provincial Nominee Program.

There were six draws throughout February, inviting 16,110 candidates. The month opened and closed with category-based selection draws for individuals with strong French language proficiency.

Category-Based Targeted Express Entry

In May 2023, the Canadian immigration department introduced category-based selection rounds of invitations for candidates who meet the criteria for one of six new Express Entry draw categories:

Healthcare Occupations
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Professions
Trades Occupations (including carpenters, plumbers, and contractors)
Transport Occupations
Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations
Strong French Proficiency

These targeted categories were established after consultations with various stakeholders, including provincial and territorial governments, settlement services, and Canadian businesses and employers. Notably, the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has confirmed that these categories will remain unchanged in 2024.
