Targeted Express Entry Draw – Transport Occupations March 13, 2024

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted another Targeted Express Entry draw for the transport sector, inviting 975 candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) was 430, 5 points fewer than the last draw held.

The first draw for transportation candidates, draw #264, was held on September 20, 2023. It issued 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) for candidates who scored a minimum CRS of 435. After that second draw was held on December 20, 2023, with 670 ITAs issued and the same CRS cut-off score.

Targeted Express Entry for Transport Occupations

To participate in this lottery, individuals need to meet the requirements for one of the Express Entry programs. The three immigration programs relevant to Canada are the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST). The transport occupations that are eligible for the Targeted Express Entry Draw are listed below:

Eligibility Requirements for Targeted Express Entry Draw

Canada’s Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, recently announced the introduction of specific categories for category-based selection in the country’s immigration system. These categories were established through the passing of Bill C-19 in the Canadian parliament last June. The chosen categories for category-based selection are as follows:

  • French-language proficiency
  • Healthcare Occupations
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) occupations
  • Skilled Trade occupations
  • Transport occupations (including Truck Drivers)
  • Agriculture and agri-food occupations

You must also meet all the eligibility requirements for one of the three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
