- The Head of School’s role is to provide strategic leadership and professional management for The International School of IITA. This will secure success and improvement for the school; ensure high-quality education and personalized learning for all its pupils and high standards and achievement in all areas of the school’s work.
Position Responsibilities
- The Head of School will provide input as required in the development of international standard educational activities for school-age children in IITA.
- The Head of school will act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for IITA in Ibadan.

The head of school is:

Strategic Leadership:
The head of school will:
- Lead a strategic review of the school mission, vision, and strategy with stakeholders in the school and IITA community.
- Ensure the school strategic plan reflects a commitment to the IB mission and philosophy alongside a commitment to the vision of IITA and CGIAR.
- Promote the school within IITA, Ibadan, Nigeria, and internationally to enable IITA to recruit the best staff from across the globe to further its mission.
- Lead the pedagogical leadership team and school management team.
- Identify key issues within the school and report to/advise the IITA Management.
- Ensure that the school remains at the forefront of educational thinking.
- Responsible for the supervision, appraisal, and professional development of staff. This may be done directly or through members of the management team.
- Responsible for the coordination and leadership of curriculum review and development of all sections recommended in the PYP Evaluation Report, to be published after the visit in January 2024, and the PYP Programme Standards and Practices in conjunction with the pedagogical leadership team.
- Responsible for admission of new students to the school.
- Responsible for the coordination of assemblies and special events in conjunction with the pedagogical leadership team.
- Responsible for the oversight of curriculum enhancement activities in the school.
- Responsible for regular independent assessment of children’s progress in the school using appropriate benchmarking tools.
- Responsible for ensuring the school achieves and maintains international accreditation in line with the agreed strategic plan.
- Review the school organogram as necessary and oversee all recruitment and appointments in school alongside the IITA People and Culture Unit.
- Oversee the in-service staff training for school staff including in-house training, national training and international training.
- Maintain a strong sense of unity within the school community.
- Promote high standards of behaviour in the school.
- Build and promote a strong sense of motivation among staff and other members of the school community.
Across IITA more widely:
The head of school will:
- Support IITA to develop environmental education and agricultural education programmes by providing pedagogical input as required.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for IITA in Ibadan.
- Provide advice on child safeguarding in other IITA stations as necessary.
- Identify areas of concern within the International School, other childcare provisions, and IITA HQ more widely regarding child safeguarding and report to IITA Management.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduate Degree (Master’s) in International Education, Education Management, Education Leadership, or a related field.
- At least five years of international experience as head of school or administrator of a sizeable school division.
- Fluency in English.

2). Oracle Applications Database Administrator
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Duties
- Install, configure, and support database management systems (Oracle & SQL databases) and related software to resolve highly complex and/or unique issues without precedent and/or structure. Work on databases using more advanced database administration concepts.
- Day to day activities for ERP and/or Database including but not limited to creating, cloning, patching, code migration, performance tuning, capacity planning, database monitoring, administration, user management, backup/recovery management, SR management, monitoring applications and its services, documentation
- Install, Upgrade, Configure, Clone, Patching & Managing of Oracle eBusiness Suite 12.7
- Responsible for EBS System Administration – User/Role Management, Responsibilities Management, Concurrent Manager/Requests Management.
- Act as liaison to Oracle ERP and other internal applications teams.
- Ensure and maintain highly available databases.
- Take responsibility for database performance optimization, backup and recovery strategies and implementation, as well as monitoring the overall health of the database environment.
- Provide on-going system administration and technical support.
- Experience in Oracle RAC, DR Setups, DataGuard, RMAN, load balancers and Fine-tunning Weblogic.

Qualification

Competencies:

- Have experience configuring and maintaining Oracle Dataguard/RAC/RMAN
- Have MS SQL Server database administration experience.
- Have Oracle DBA, Apps DBA or other relevant certification.
- Have organizational and documentation skills.

- Have sound troubleshooting and analytical skills.

3). Communication Manager

Responsibilities
Internal Communications and Knowledge Management:
- Develop and direct the implementation of the communications strategy for HarvestPlus, ensuring integration and alignment with the country office strategy, and targeting key audiences to build profile and support for HarvestPlus work.
- Provide technical, editorial, documentation, and communication support during project events such as Nutritious Food Fair, farmers’ days etc.
- Develop compelling stories – features, photo and video stories, and events that reinforce HarvestPlus brand, while managing regular and efficient sharing and exchange of information through effective internal communications to bring to life HarvestPlus work.
- Manage delivery of core communications resources and assets, including reports, briefings, factsheets, and profiles and coordinate production (design and printing) in line with HarvestPlus brand guidelines, and manage distribution.
- Develop relevant documents, including strategies, proposals, donor reports and other technical documents, to ensure proper reporting with well-written and clear communication messages.
- Work with relevant staff to develop communication materials including press releases, newsletters, articles, website pages, brochures, banners, posters, guidelines etc, to support partners and investors.
- Provide technical advice and support to unit leaders and other staff in planning and developing relevant information and communications products and organize in-house media training for staff as necessary.
- Develop and evaluate the feasibility, efficiency and quality of Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
External and Media Engagement:
- Maintain positive profile through impactful media and outreach campaigns across key external online and offline communications channels.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with targeted online, print and broadcast journalists, editorial writers, bloggers and columnists, as well as other media influencers, and mobilize them for HarvestPlus events.
- Monitor the media landscape with special focus on brand and image attacks and work with appropriate internal stakeholders to formulate responses as required.
- Limit and prevent crisis communications by providing frequent updates and critical messaging on FAQs.
- Oversee and manage the program’s digital media strategy, ensuring that website and social media channels content are updated and engaging.
- Contribute to communication capacity-building for partners and stakeholders, including developing training programs and guidelines to support and ensure partners can detect, shape and tell their stories of social change and ensure these stories are further incorporated to wider HarvestPlus communications.
- Proactively identify media opportunities and, in close liaison with HarvestPlus partners, plan and implement media events including press conferences.
- Oversee monitoring of the current and future news agenda to identify and exploit communications opportunities, manage press enquires and pursue opportunities for promoting HarvestPlus
- Oversee management of media contact and communications database and execute and monitor media strategies and activities, including press conferences, one-to-one briefings, press releases, and other written materials.
- Link HarvestPlus Nigeria advocacy campaigns to other regional and international campaigns, and keep stakeholders and partners informed on various HarvestPlus activities.
Event organization and management:
- Lead the planning and execution of all program and advocacy events ensuring adherence to standards and event objectives.
- Post-event evaluation – analyze executed events against targets and objectives.

Social Media and Website management:

- Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Agricultural Extension Communication or Journalism or related field with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
